Cyber Security
US Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges (OALJ)The Coleman Group, Inc. (CGI) has provided Certification and Accreditation (C&A) support, as well as Cyber Law and Forensics support to OALJ. CGI’s C&A team reviewed and recertified the OALJ Major Application and General Support System (GSS), which included servers, backbone network, policies and procedures, and user activities, in accordance with DOL and NIST federal guidelines. To complete the Case Tracking System (CTS) and GSS infrastructure system C&A, CGI conducted a series of tiered assessments such as user interviews, documentation review and modification, vulnerability scanning, specialized web application vulnerability assessments, directed penetration testing of the OALJ website, and IT security controls assessments. CGI cyber security experts produced the following deliverables: Certification & Accreditation documentation reports, specialized web-based remediation recommendations, ATO recommendations and security related supporting documentation to maintain a record of compliance and/or remediation efforts.
Identity Access Management
US Department of Commerce, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)The Coleman Group, Inc. (CGI) has managed the installation and maintenance of the Electronic Security Management Systems on a 24/7 basis at NOAA Headquarters and other NOAA sites in and around metropolitan Washington, DC. In conjunction with personnel from NOAA’s Office of Security, CGI ensured the sustainable development of a comprehensive, integrated Security Management System for access control, intrusion detection, alarm and CCTV monitoring, along with the management of security records at all of its local offices. During the implementation stage, CGI also supported NOAA by monitoring the internal software House C-CURE 800/8000 security management system, providing preventive maintenance recommendations and a 24-hour answering service, as well as producing log of monthly reports to track progress. CGI members were also certified to service the devices and technology produced by Software House and offer experience with American Dynamics and Pelco closed-circuit TV technologies as well as other related technology products.
Acquisition Support
US Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA)The Coleman Group, Inc. (CGI) has managed various procurement programs and support services that aid FTA grantees with technical procurement contracts. CGI directly met the needs of FTA grantees through the Field Procurement Help-Line by answering a range of questions related to the interpretation of contract terms, service conditions, and SDB policies as well as guidance for developing acquisition strategies for major IT systems. When FTA grantees needed further assistance with specific challenges, CGI offered on-site support to grantees in Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania. CGI also conducted research on best practices in the transit industry for the FTA Best Practices Procurement Manual, managed the FTA Procurement System Review Guide and maintains the grantee Q & A reference database to better serve the FTA and its grantees.
Adjudication Support
US Department of Commerce, US Census BureauThe Coleman Group, Inc. (CGI) has supported the Department of Commerce in many capacities through a partnership with the Census Hiring and Employment Check (CHEC) Office’s effort to screen the suitability and security eligibility of more than 4 million applicants to become federal employees, as well as the facilitation of fingerprint training seminars throughout the United States and Puerto Rico for thousands of local Census workers. Other adjudication services that CGI has provided include: National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) requirement reviews under OPM Suitability/Security standards using SF85, Optional 12, OF306 forms, FBI and state law enforcement vouchers and reports; electronic background investigation (BI) checks using agency databases and other ancillary sources; supervisory reviews of completions and correspondence reviews to obtain supplemental information or explanations from applicants; BI Call center support; and document management support.
